James McGarry
Founder & Principal
James has spent nearly fifteen years working on clean energy policy from different perspectives: as an advocate at an environmental nonprofit, as a lead analyst on integrated resource planning at the California Public Utilities Commission, and as head of Western policy and business development for a national solar and storage developer. Each role offered a new lens on how energy policy gets made, and how it plays out in the real world.
He brings that range to his work with clients, whether they're shaping a new program, weighing in on a proceeding, or figuring out what a rule change means for their organization. He founded McGarry Energy Solutions in 2025 and works directly with each client.
